Shanghai Design Centre was established in February 2013 as a result of a collaboration with Tongji University, Science and Technology Park, Shanghai You Yi Network Science and Technology Ltd with the aim of creating a new and innovative platform for the creative industry in Shanghai.
The Shanghai Design Centre is located in the Yangpu District, an area which is considered very important for the design industry and that, with the help of the local government, will became in 2015 a real design hub with a lot of architecture and design practises beeing based in this area.
“Flexible Exhibition Hall” is the Shanghai Design Centre’s main space. It is a 2 floors area that can be used as Design Museum, for products display, conferences, networking, education, cultural and leisure activities.
It represents a great opportunity for international designers, architects and top materials suppliers.
The Exhibition Hall cover an area of about 350 square meters and it hosts products from well-known interiors and furniture brands. The Exhibition Hall features also a refreshment area, conference area and shop display.
Every year on the 4th of May (Youth Day) Shanghai Design Centre hosts a 1 month long exhibition called "Young Design Talents Exhibition” dedicated to young designers but also ordinary people under 40 years old. The exhibition usually has a lot of participants who display their creative design works and innovative ideas.
